History with TAMAM

Saint Mary’s Orthodox School in West Beirut began with separate schools for boys and girls established around 1890. The boys’ school was demolished in 1979 to expand the church, leading to the formation of the college with an expanded girls’ section. The college, which grew from 1,193 to 1,493 students over the past decade, renovated its campuses in 2018-2019 to accommodate the Secondary Division. It focuses on providing quality education and promoting cultural and social integration among diverse communities. The school was among the first schools that joined the TAMAM project in its first phase (2007-2011) and completed the school-based improvement project in 2010.
