TAMAM Improvement Project (2014-2015)
Students and Heavy School Bags
*This improvement initiative was under the supervision of TAMAM coaches in American University of Cairo and Assiut University.
Students carry heavy school bags due to the large number of books which triggered the idea of this project. Heavy school bags cause pain and health problems for students including: back pain and curvature of the spine. In addition, parents complain about the heavy bags.
Starting from this concern, the teachers started thinking about different solutions to the problem, and one of them was to provide a place at school to store their books, but the students need the books and copybooks to study at home. After several meetings with the parents and school council, the TAMAM team at the school started thinking about developing an e-learning program where the use of I-Pads and e-books is emphasized to reduce to load of the heavy bags.
