This action research aims to determine the effectiveness of cooperative learning in the development of collaborative practices. The tools used to collect information are classroom observation, students’ questionnaires, focus groups, interviews with students, and interviews with teachers. The results support what have been said previously in focus groups in terms of teaching cooperative skills for students that are not built on previous skills. The study also inferred that the reasons for rejection of the idea of collective work is because there is not an awareness in schools towards the importance of teaching strategies of cooperative learning for students and teachers. The recommendations came out to say that there should be training for a larger number of teachers on collaborative learning strategy, the consistency of teaching cooperative skills, and teaching social cooperative skills based on the students’ academic level.
