The steering team members presented these units, with approximately 36 participants including teachers and department heads of Arabic language subjects across all school levels.

During unit two, participants learned about the necessary strategies for launching, implementing, and evaluating innovative initiatives, transforming them into established practices within schools. A brief overview of TAMAM’s school-based development journey was also presented as a mechanism used for this purpose. In unit three, participants explored the competencies individuals must possess when leading any change in educational institutions, along with the academic background necessary for this. A brief presentation was given on TAMAM’s eleven competencies aimed at leading school change. The session concluded by explaining the desired vision aspects related to educational leadership, the self-renewing community institution, and the student leader.

The sessions featured presentations from the training team sharing their progress with various teams within the school, and a presentation from the differentiation committee sharing a brief on their acquisition of TAMAM competencies over the past two years. Participants also engaged in brainstorming activities in breakout rooms that served the objectives of these units. At the end of units two and three, department members expressed interest in learning more about TAMAM’s journey and competencies in preparation for broader engagement of Arabic language department members in the future.

It is noteworthy that this course is offered in collaboration with the Continuing Education Center and the Ministry of Education at the American University of Beirut, in partnership with the TAMAM project. Participants receive a certificate of attendance from the Continuing Education Center and TAMAM upon completion. The steering team presented unit one during their visit to Kuwait in October 2023.
