Based on the importance of instructional supervision in educational institutions, and in light of the plan developed between TAMAM project and Al Maymouna for this year with regard to focusing on Teachers’ performance improvement. TAMAM coach held the second workshop for the lead teams in Al-Maymouna for Education in its two branches, the Muhammad-Al-Bakr School and the Mustafa and Tahia Al-Lawzi-Berkayel School, to train them on how to implement the clinical supervision cycle and hoe to connect this practice to formative evaluation of teachers’ performance. Additionally, the workshop aimed at discussing the profile of the instructional supervisor that Al-Maymouna for Education chose and the difficulties and challenges that might face the newly appointed supervisors.

It is noteworthy that these policies were developed with the support of the TAMAM project, with the aim of developing the institution’s performance while respecting its context and using its resources. The supervisory approach chosen by Al-Maymouna for Education is the developmental approach that aims to empower and support teachers in order to  improve student learning.

The workshop included hands-on activities, including the use of a pre-observation form, an application on models of  concentrated observations, and a post-observation form. During the workshop, the importance of relying on evidence was repeatedly emphasized to determine the needs that will be worked on through the clinical supervision cycle. A follow up for the practices introduced in this workshop is planned, TAMAM coach will be mentoring the lead teams in implementation next year through frequent visits to the schools.
