Based on the importance of instructional supervision in the development of educational institutions, the TAMAM project held a workshop for the lead teams in Al Maymouna Education to train them on how to apply the policy of school meetings and the policy of formative evaluation of teachers’ performance in the school.  It is noteworthy that these policies were developed with the support of the TAMAM project, with the aim of developing the institution’s performance while respecting its context and using its resources.  The supervisory approach chosen by Al Maymouna Education is the developmental approach that aims to empower and support teachers and improves students’ learning.

The training included practical activities such as analyzing multiple scenarios, identifying the teachers’ needs based on evidence and accurate information, and planning empowerment and improvement procedures accordingly.

At the end of the workshop, the participants expressed that this training in addition to the follow up offered will help with the institutionalization of developmental instructional supervision in Al Maymouna Education and will contribute to improving students’ learning significantly by developing the performance of its teachers, especially as it is conjugated with field training on these policies during TAMAM expert visits to schools on an ongoing basis to keep up with implementation process and provide necessary feedback.
