During this interview, Dr. Rima addressed some of the main challenges that education in the Arab world faces. She also spoke about the role of the school in achieving sustainable development in society, role of teachers in the change process and how to develop teachers through taking care of their professional development and job security. Moreover, Dr. Rima talked about the agency of the learner and the areas in which the learner’s voice is essential for school improvement. She also presented the main obstacles facing the idea of giving learners’ a voice and she suggested strategies to overcome them.
After that, Dr. Rima talked about the TAMAM project, and commented on the large and clear presence of women in the educational field and the imbalance of this quantitative presence with the qualitative presence at the level of decision-making.
Dr. Rima concluded by commenting on the experience of Manhajiyat as an Arab educational magazine that shares experiences and provides a platform for interaction between teachers and all parties concerned with the educational process.
