Dr. Rima Karami, TAMAM Project Director, participated in a panel discussion as one of the laureates of the UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development 2022. Dr. Karami shared that TAMAM’s work is centered around teachers’ empowerment and creating spaces where teachers are actively engaged in innovation as part of their role and where they take the responsibility of integrating their innovative ideas within their schools beyond their classrooms. She emphasized the uniqueness of the TAMAM model as it embraces the context from which the teachers and schools come from and builds on its assets. TAMAM’s programs are responsive to diverse contexts as its designs emerged from a diversity of social and organizational context within the Arab region. Dr. Karami highlighted that TAMAM vision is transforming schools into self-renewing institutions that will become the force for a much needed sustainable systemic change.
