The TAMAM Steering team held a closing meeting on June 20th with the “Volunteers and Interns Cohort’ for the year 2021-2022. This year’s cohort included some former TAMAM volunteers, a number of research assistants from graduate students in the Department of Education at the American University of Beirut, and a number of undergraduate students who joined TAMAM through the Undergraduate Research Volunteer Program launched by the American University of Beirut(URVP). The cohort committed to TAMAM internship program that extended for the summer of 2022, during which they fulfilled tasks that met the project’s needs in terms of translating and revising documents; copying, transcribing and analyzing research data; marketing to TAMAM and increasing its visibility through social media.
During the meeting, the volunteers shared their learning experiences and the skills they acquired while working with TAMAM. They also expressed their admiration for the TAMAM project and their enthusiasm to engage in more internship tasks in the future, especially as they felt that the TAMAM project is an added value to improving schools in the Arab countries.
The steering team would like to thank all the volunteers and trainees for this year: Haya Bitar, Fatima Khashfeh, Issam Al-Dahman, Yara Ahmed, Elio Haddad, Sana Al-Sayegh, Didita Rizk, and Tala Sharif for their assistance in the project. The team prepared certificates of participation for each volunteer with the number of hours completed and the type of tasks they performed, and their names were also listed on the TAMAM website https://tamamproject.org/ar/tamam-interns-ar/
The steering team invites university students to enroll in the TAMAM internship program in subsequent years in order to get to know about the project and contribute to achieving its goals through various tasks such as translating, copying and analyzing data, or helping to publish TAMAM experiences on social media, and much more.
