On November 13, 2021, Dr. Sonya Hayes from the University of Tennessee and Dr. Julia Mahfouz from the University of Colorado presented a paper about TAMAM during the 35th Annual Convention of the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA). The presentation was based on a study in collaboration with Dr. Rima Karami titled “Developing and Sustaining a Networked Improvement Community of Schools: The TAMAM Case Study”. The study examined how TAMAM builds the capacity of educators at the school level to initiate innovations and to lead and sustain improvement through the development of networked improvement communities (NICs). The case study identified three preliminary themes in regard to the qualities of school improvement initiatives that develop and sustain a NIC: building relational bond between schools, cultivating an ethic of care, and attending to the contextual commonalities and differences.
The UCEA convention was held from November 11 to 14, 2021 under the title ‘EMERGING STRONGER: Reuniting to Advance Educational Leadership”.
